ABOUT US

We are home to Shou-un Temple (Shou-un-ji), located in Nirasaki City, Yamanashi, Japan.

Our temple has a history of over 400 years established during the Adsuchi-Momoyama era.

Our temple is part of SOTO ZEN - the largest denomination of Japanese Buddhism.

Have you ever heard of the term "ZEN"? ZEN is our central spirit.

If you come to our temple you can learn and experience ZEN!

Our temple is surrounded by very famous mountains such as Mt. Fuji, the Yatsugatake Mountain Range, Houou-Sanzan and the Kayagatake Mountains. Our location in Nirasaki means that you are in close proximity to the Entry Gates for these mountains, Japan's famous hot springs and scenic photographic spots with Sakura and Cherry Blossom Trees.

We promise that you can see our beautiful mountains sights from here

and we believe that they are the best in Japan!

We offer the unique traditional Japanese experience and sights. If you would like to stay at our temple, please contact us!  We are able to speak to you in Japanese, English and Chinese (Mandarin).

We look forward to meeting you!
